Joining Longworth
Choosing a primary school for your child is a hugely important decision. If you have any questions that we can help answer, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Applications for September 2024
For parents of children born between 1st September 2019 and 31st August 2020 who will be starting school in September 2024, Oxfordshire County Council offer online admission applications here.
Key Dates - Primary Schools
- 1st November 2023 - Applications open
- 15th January 2024 - Closing date for applications
- 29th January 2024 - Last date for confirmation of change of address
- 16th April 2024 – National Offer Day: offer letters sent by second-class post where needed and emails sent to those who applied online
- 30th April - Closing date for late or amended applications. Closing date to respond to offers made on 16th April and to join continued interests list
- September 2024 - Start of academic year for the Reception year group
Key Dates - Secondary Schools
- 12th September 2023 - Applications open.
- 31st October 2023 - Closing date for applications.
- 1st March 2024 - National offer day: look online, receive email and letters are sent out by second class post where needed.
- 13th March 2024 - The last date for responding to an offer and placing a child’s name on a continued interest list in response to offers made on 1st March.
- September 2024 - Start of the school year.

Appealing for a school place / appeals procedure
Please see the Oxfordshire County Council website for full details on appeals. You may wish to appeal for a place if you have not been offered a place for your child in the school you wish them to attend.
